She & Him....and a Lil Art
 I always knew that Zooey Deschanel had an awesome voice ever since the shower scene in Elf....but I never thought I would buy a full album by her..(and you bet your ass I will when Volume I drops on March 18).....Gotta give M. Ward credit too for the songwriting/guitar work.... also I saw a very good Documentary the other night called "My Child Could Paint That"....about Marla Olmstead (now 8 years old, but 4 in the movie) an abstract painter/child protdigy who paints some very interesting art...Some of the art has been sold to many Celebs and art collectors for $1000`s of dollars.....    I won`t give away any of the movie...You`ll have to see it yourself...But it raises a very good question!.....Is it art or just some kid throwing paint on a board and making a mess..CN |

post a commentin art history class we're always taught that what is art is determined solely by the artist. the biggest revolutions in art in the past 100 years involved artist like Picasso and the Pop artists introducing the "non-art" into the art world. whats interesting is how this art determined by the artist concept might shift if the artist in question is 8 years old.
I as well was very impressed with the She & Him release. Great vibe by two talented musicians brought together at just the right time.

I have a 4 year old and a 6 year old. From where I sit, that's art! My kids "abstracts" look like crummy kid pictures. That stuff looks pretty cool. (But if an adult painted it, then it would be a lot harder to pass off as the work of genius.)
