New Stereolab & Hot Tennis Players

Stereolab is one of those bands that have been in and out of my life since the late 90`s.....They have released 8 albums in their life span and I probably only paid attention to half. So we finally get to hear a new track fromn Mike Skinner....aka... The Streets....Word on the street is that the new album is going back to sounding like Original Pirate Material.....This song doesn`t sound like OPM at all....but its still a decent track.... I also want you to check out the new single from The Faint....very danclicious (if that`s even a word) and sounds very Geeky....In May 2008 The Faint announced that they had split from their long time home Saddle Creek and that their fifth studio album would be self released under their own blank.wav imprint. The band’s sound, categorized as “chamber pop”, has been compared to the indie rock groups Arcade Fire, The Decemberists, and The Shins, while incorporating elements of singer/songwriters like Paul Simon and Conor Oberst. Home Run Derby...Who`s hit the longest?

So last night was one of the most exciting events to happen in baseball.....the Homerun derby...Let`s face it the reason we all get MLB video games is so we can play the Home Run Derby...and watching it can be just as fun.....It would make a good drinking game....everytime the ball leaves the yard...ya drink!....It got me thinking though...Who has hit the longest homerun?...thanks internet! The answer to this question, which is a fact, is none other than Babe Ruth. The "Bambino" hit at least 650 ft. (it has not been determined the exact distance, however it was over 650 feet) at Wilkes University's (Artillery Park) in 1926 that topped them all. Ruth came to the Wyoming Valley on October 12, to take part in an exhibition game between Hughestown and Larksville. After challenging Larksville pitcher Ernie Corkran to throw his fastest pitch over the plate, Ruth cracked what is now deemed to be the longest ball in baseball history. The ball cleared the right field fence 400 feet from the plate by more than 40 feet and was still ascending. The ball landed on the far side of the running track of a high school athletic field in Kirby Park. Officials estimated the length at 650 feet. Two artists that you must check out today.....The first one is a great little indie/pop band from Vancouver called Cinderpop... I`ve had the album "A Lession In Science" for the last couple months and it hasn`t left my ears....Sweet catchy harmonies and uptempo melodies is what Cinderpop brings...kinda what you`d expect from a band named Cinderpop.... Regardless, Please check the new album out, its one of my favourite albums I`ve herd this year and I`m not bullshittin ya...Also get the song "You Me And The Mountain" from the new Maps & Atlases EP, which is freakin awesome.... I love it when these little EP`s pop out of nowhere, and Maps & Atlases take their songs to an interesting level...Where is the song going next??...Its quite an exciting listen (the EP). New Beck

Looking forward to the new Beck album....I had my first swallow of Modern Guilt and I likey so far....I`m loving Cat Power on a few tracks too...Interesting cover...are those Becks shoes???
