Happy Halloween!! / An Inconvenient Truth

(Thanks for the picture Dale) Happy Halloween everyone...Although I feel as though last Saturday was Halloween...It doesn`t feel like Halloween to me though cause I`m stuck working and never got the chance to dressup this year....I did get scared yesterday though...let me explain... I watched the movie An Inconvenient Truth with Al Gore. I won`t give away the movie at all, but I will say Please See it...It will hopefully change your perspective on the planet earth!.. We Kicked It In A Chillout Tent.....

What a wonderfull weekend of madness and a lil R & R...We ventured over to Toronto on the weekend to see The Hold Steady @ The Horseshoe...which I was really excited for...The new album Boys & Girls in America has been playing on repeat in the vehicle over the last couple weeks.....Sean Na Na opened and played an entertaining set. But I found my mind wondering while they played so it wasn`t that magical...The crowd then grew and I found myself sweating my ass off waiting for Hold Steady to take the stage...Then they jumped on stage and ripped into Stuck Between Stations, and Chips Ahoy!...it was awesome...and the band was a lot different then I expected ( I had never seen what they looked like until Saturday). They didn`t play Chillout Tent but it was still an phenominal show.....CN (live @ Lollapalooza) Hold Steady - Stuck Between Stations Hold Steady - Massive Night Hold Steady - Chips Ahoy! Its Time For Another Good Idea Bad Idea...

You know in Animaniacs when they show the small cartoon clip called "Good Idea, Bad Idea"? Well ...I her a small voice say that in my head when I think about the new We Are Scientists B-Sides and Rarities album called Crap Attack...and in some small way I think the band itsn`t that keen about the album (Why else would they call it Crap Attack?). Its a Good Idea cause I`m a big WAS fan and enjoyed their debut album With Love And Squalor. Also good to hear a more diverse list of songs from these young lads from NY.... Its a Bad Idea cause its too early to have a B-Sides & Rarities album when you only have 1 album and a bunch of EP`s under your belt...I can see if you`ve been a band for 10 yrs, released numerious albums and gone on tons of world tours...but not when your as young as the WAS...Another case of the label asking themselves "Hey how can we make more money off this semi-successfull band while we wait for another full length"....the answer...Crap Attack...CN We Are Scientists -Be My Baby We Are Scientists - History Repeats We Are Scientists - The Geat Escape Under The Sea We Are Scientists - Nobody Move, Nobody Get Hurt We Are Scientists - The Great Escape (The Silence Mix) We Are Scientists -Call Backs Under The Sea

Uncut ...........The Slip

I`ve wanted to talk about the band Uncut and the new album Modern Currencies for awhile..But I had 125 albums to share with ya, and havn`t really gotten a chance to discuss the new record yet...Keep in mind before hearing the new disk I had only herd maybe 3 songs from Uncut before in my life. If you come here often then you know I am a huge fan of Derek`s old band Radioblaster...so obviously after a few listens of the new album I was a fan..They were supposed to open for K-Os @ Call The Office before that got canceled but have no fear cause according to their MySpace site they will be back @ Call The Office on Nov 10... The new album Let`s Build a Fire from New York City`s + - (Plus Minus) has been putting my iPod into overdrive over the last few days...I think it burnt a hole in my iPod I played it so much yesterday...I find myself enjoying this album the more I listen to it..Its like a game to me now in my head. Don`t You Know I`m Loco? (As In Local)

I have two artists to introduce you to today. Its funny cause I`d like to think that one of my greatest talents is being able to spot out good music and bad music. But today I have other people to thank for pointing me in the direction of good music...1st is my cousin Mike who gave me a copy of The D'Urbervilles EP...Picture The Lovely Feathers with a drop of Franz Ferdinand...We saw them open up for Mates Of State and I must say that there live performance was highly entertaining as well...I remember they started their set from the audience, snapping their fingers away while we were left thinking WTF is going on??...so..if you like what you hear..please support the artist HERE.... 2nd CD was introduced to me by my lovley GF Patricia....Our friend Mark (aka Mac Graham) has just released his first E.P. entitled 7 Grams...
